Toddler (1–3 years) 44 cm 78 sts 16 plain rounds

Measure the head and pick from the middle column. Age is a poor guide and the tape does not lie.

You must already know: chain, single crochet, increase, working in continuous rounds, using a stitch marker, back loop only. This pattern does not teach you to crochet — it teaches you to make this one object.

You will need: stitch marker, yarn needle, scissors, a tape measure — this is the one project where it matters. Yarn: Worsted (CYC 4) in any colour.

Two things this file does not state. Yarn amount and hook size are left blank on purpose — neither can be worked out from a stitch count, and no physical make has been recorded to measure them from. Size and time above are calculated from the counts, not measured. Every count was worked out twice, independently, and matched before the file was allowed to exist.
