Kroche Acorn Coaster

$7.00

One flat acorn coaster in two colours, with a ridged cap and a stalk.

What you get

  • A 4-page PDF, A4 and US Letter both included
  • 12 numbered rounds, each ending in the stitch count you should have
  • A stitch chart drawn from the same counts as the written pattern
  • 3 things that commonly go wrong, and what to do about each

Before you start

  • Skill level: Beginner
  • Finished size: about 7 cm (2.7 in) wide and 4 cm (1.4 in) tall
  • Time to make: about 20 minutes to 35 minutes
  • Assembly: Body, cap and stalk are worked in one continuous piece, each straight onto the last. No pieces are sewn.
  • Terms: US crochet terms throughout.

You must already know: chain, single crochet, increase, sc2tog, working flat in rows, back loop only. This pattern does not teach you to crochet — it teaches you to make this one object.

You will need: yarn needle, scissors. Yarn: Tan or caramel worsted cotton (CYC 4) for the body, dark brown for the cap.

Two things this file does not state. Yarn amount and hook size are left blank on purpose — neither can be worked out from a stitch count, and no physical make has been recorded to measure them from. Size and time above are calculated from the counts, not measured. Every count was worked out twice, independently, and matched before the file was allowed to exist.
