Kroche Gingerbread Person Coaster

One flat gingerbread person coaster with a worked-on head and four limbs.

What you get

  • A 5-page PDF, A4 and US Letter both included
  • 10 numbered rounds, each ending in the stitch count you should have
  • A stitch chart drawn from the same counts as the written pattern
  • 3 things that commonly go wrong, and what to do about each

Before you start

  • Skill level: Confident beginner
  • Finished size: about 5 cm (2.0 in) across
  • Time to make: about 25 minutes to 40 minutes
  • Assembly: Head and limbs are worked directly onto the body edge. No pieces are sewn together.
  • Terms: US crochet terms throughout.

You must already know: chain, single crochet, increase, working in continuous rounds, using a stitch marker. This pattern does not teach you to crochet — it teaches you to make this one object.

You will need: yarn needle, scissors, small amount of white yarn for icing. Yarn: Warm brown worsted cotton (CYC 4), scraps of white and red for the icing.

Two things this file does not state. Yarn amount and hook size are left blank on purpose — neither can be worked out from a stitch count, and no physical make has been recorded to measure them from. Size and time above are calculated from the counts, not measured. Every count was worked out twice, independently, and matched before the file was allowed to exist.
