Two squares make the whole top, so the size run is a run of square sizes and nothing else changes.

You must already know: chain, double crochet, working into a chain space, the traditional granny square. This pattern does not teach you to crochet — it teaches you to make this one object.

You will need: yarn needle, scissors, tape measure. Yarn: DK or light worsted cotton (CYC 3–4).

Two things this file does not state. Yarn amount and hook size are left blank on purpose — neither can be worked out from a stitch count, and no physical make has been recorded to measure them from. Size and time above are calculated from the counts, not measured. Every count was worked out twice, independently, and matched before the file was allowed to exist.
