Kroche is a one-person business based in New York, United States, selling downloadable crochet patterns at kroche.co. "We" and "us" mean Kroche. "You" mean the person buying or using the site.
You need to be old enough to enter into a contract where you live, and the payment method you use has to be yours to use.
What you are buying
A PDF file, not an object.Every product in this shop is a set of written instructions. Nothing is manufactured, nothing is posted to you, and no finished item exists to be sent. The photographs on a product page show what the pattern is designed to produce when you make it yourself.
Each pattern is supplied in two page sizes, A4 and US Letter, in one purchase. You are not asked to choose at checkout and you are not charged twice.
Delivery
The download link is emailed to the address you give at checkout as soon as payment clears, usually within a minute. Delivery is by email only.
Give an address you can actually receive mail at. If the link has not arrived after a few minutes, check your spam folder, then email {{ email }} and the file will be sent to you directly. A download that never arrived is not a refund matter — it will simply be sent again.
Prices and payment
Prices are in US dollars and are shown on each product page. Where a higher price is shown crossed out beside the price you pay, the crossed-out figure is the ordinary price of that item, or the total of the individual patterns in the case of a set.
Prices can change at any time, but never for an order already placed. Payment is taken at checkout through Shopify's payment processing; card details are handled by the payment provider and are never seen or stored by us.
Any tax that applies is shown at checkout before you pay.
What you may do with a pattern you have bought
When you buy a pattern you get a permanent, personal, non-exclusive licence to use it. Under that licence you may:
Make the object as many times as you like, for yourself or as gifts.
Sell the finished items you make from it. No credit is required, though it is always welcome.
Print the file as often as you need for your own use.
What you may not do
Share, send, upload, resell or republish the file itself, in whole or in part.
Pass off the pattern text, charts or photographs as your own, or publish them under another name.
Sell or distribute the instructions in any form, including retyped, translated, reformatted or turned into a video.
Use the pattern or its images to train a machine learning model.
Remove or alter anything in the file that identifies where it came from.
The licence is for you. It does not transfer to anyone else, and it does not extend to a group, a class, a shop or a subscription service. If you want to teach from a pattern or use it with a group, email {{ email }} and ask — the answer is usually yes, and it is free.
Breaking these restrictions ends your licence.
Refunds
You can ask for your money back within 14 days of purchase, without giving a reason, and a faulty file is corrected free whenever you find it. The full terms are in therefund policy, which forms part of these terms.
What the patterns claim, and what they do not
This matters more than most fine print, so it is stated plainly rather than buried.
Stitch counts are checked.Every count in every pattern is worked out twice, by separate arithmetic, and the two have to agree before the file is allowed to exist. If a count does not add up, that is a fault in the product and it gets fixed free.
Finished size and time to make are calculated, not measured.Both are derived from the stitch counts at the stated yarn weight and hook. Treat them as a guide to what you are committing to, not a promise.
Gauge decides your finished size, not the hook.Each pattern states a starting hook and the gauge the figures were calculated at. Work looser or tighter than that gauge and your finished piece will not match the stated size. That is how crochet works, and it is not a fault in the pattern.
Yarn amount is left blank on purpose.Yardage cannot be worked out reliably from a stitch count — it has to be weighed off a finished piece. Nothing on this site tells you how much yarn to buy, and you should allow for that when you shop.
No independent physical make has been recorded.The patterns are derived and verified mathematically.
Every pattern lists on its first page the stitches it assumes you already know. None of them teaches you to crochet from scratch — they teach you to make one object. All directions use US crochet terms.
Safety
Some patterns use safety eyes, small parts or stuffing. Items made from these patterns are not tested toys and are not suitable for babies or small children unless you make them so — for a child, embroider the features instead of using safety eyes, and use your own judgement about the yarn and filling. You are responsible for what you make and who you give it to.
Using the site
Do not try to break, overload, scrape or gain unauthorised access to the site, and do not use it for anything unlawful. We may refuse or cancel an order, or block access, where there is good reason to think a purchase is fraudulent or these terms are being broken.

We try to keep the shop running and the files downloadable, but this is a small business on hosted infrastructure and we cannot promise the site will always be available or free of error. These are instructions for a craft you carry out yourself, using your own materials and your own judgement. We are responsible for the pattern being what it says it is. We are not responsible for the yarn you chose, the time you spent, the piece that came out a different size because your gauge differed, or anything you go on to do with what you make.

The number at the end of a round
That bold figure is how many stitches you should have once
the round is finished — not how many to work. Count them before you
move on.

Why the marker matters
Continuous rounds have no join, so there is no seam to find. Put a
marker in the first stitch of the round and move it up every single
round, or the count drifts and nothing tells you.

When the number disagrees
Do not carry on and hope. The fault is almost always in the round
you just finished, not in your hands.
Stop at the round where the number first disagreed —
everything after it is already wrong.

The arithmetic in all patterns has been derived twice by
independent programs that share no code, and the files will not build
